One of our biggest weddings last year was for a bride and groom with Italian connections – so it was always going to be a big affair!
The venue was the beautiful Grade II listed Houghton Lodge, on the River Test in Hampshire on a gorgeous sunny summer’s day.
The bride had chosen a lovely natural and relaxed style with classic pale pinks, ivory and white. Foliage played a big part and was a feature in many of the designs. So pale pink roses, ivory roses, lisianthus, Astilbe, stocks and masses of eucalyptus and ivy were the order of the day.
The bride had a big and blousy trailing shower bouquet and the venue was filled with arrangements that definitely provided the ‘wow’ factor. In the marquee, tall glass flute vases held large relaxed domes of flowers and foliage, with ivy trails falling down to the tables. Outside, there were jam jars on shepherd’s hooks lining the river, flowers draped over wooden barrels that complemented the beautiful countryside and numerous informal jam jars filled with flowers to decorate seating areas.
It all looked stunning and the couple had a truly magical day – benissimo!
